Of which, patients from Bangladesh and Afghanistan have always stayed at the top and continue to rank higher as far as the maximum number of medical tourists arrivals in India. Bangladeshis come to India for medical treatment in large numbers every year. In 2017, there was 2.21 lakh, in 2016, there was 2.10 lakh, and in 2015 there was 1.20 lakh. As a result, it is easy to see how the numbers keep rising every year.

Similarly, the highest number of medical tourists from Afghanistan was in the year 2015 – 27,505. As of 2017, it dropped to 55,681 from 61,231 in 2016 and reached a whopping number of 61,231 in 2016.
